This document provides a cross-reference between Wang Labs internal Integrated
Circuit part numbers and manufacturer part numbers. This information will
be very useful to anyone that has an integrated circuit-based Wang calculator
(700, 600, 500, 100, 400-series, and C-Series) that is in need of repair.
In some
cases, Wang Labs negotiated with their IC vendors to print only the Wang
internal part number on components delivered to Wang, thus making it much
more difficult for anyone other than Wang service personnel to perform
chip-level diagnosis and replacement. This information is taken from a
document entitled "Standards for IC Symbols" (Publication #03-00010-1),
dated April of 1973. The document was created and edited by Wang Labs'
Product Service Department for use by factory-based service personnel to
repair circuit boards returned to the factory as defective.
