News Archive - Tektronix Acquisition of Cintra

Computerworld, July 21, 1971

A later (approx. 3 months after the sale was announced) news release announcing the completion of Tektronix' purchase of Cintra, Inc., from Physics International, the majority shareholder of Cintra. The sale was announced on May 7, 1971, and completed in July. The completion of this purchase caused Cintra to become the Tektronix Calculator Products Division, which marketed Cintra's calculators (an example being the Tektronix 909) under the Tektronix badge, and later, spawned the creation of the Tektronix Model 21 and Model 31 calculators.
