News Archive - Tektronix Acquisition of Cintra
Computerworld, July 21, 1971 A later (approx. 3 months after
the sale was announced) news release announcing the
completion of Tektronix' purchase of Cintra, Inc., from Physics International,
the majority shareholder of Cintra. The sale was announced on May 7, 1971, and
completed in July. The completion of this purchase caused
Cintra to become the Tektronix Calculator Products Division, which marketed Cintra's
calculators
(an example being the Tektronix 909)
under the Tektronix badge, and later, spawned the creation of the
Tektronix Model 21 and
Model 31 calculators.
