News Archive - Electronic Arrays forms International Calculating Machines (ICM) as OEM Calculator Manufacturer

A short newsbyte announcing that MOS/LSI chip maker Electronic Arrays (EA) of Woodland Hills, California, is creating a subsidiary called International Calculating Machines, Inc. (ICM) to manufacture electronic calculators using EA's six-chip MOS/LSI S-100 calculator chip set for sale to OEM customers. ICM will utilize 50,000 sq. ft. in Electronic Arrays' facility to manufacture the calculators, which will be badged and serialized with the customer's desired name/scheme. Stright out of the gate, nearby Caltype, Inc., signed up as an OEM customer to wholesale the calculator it will call the Caltype "Senator Mini-Calc", to retailers.
