Monroe EPIC 3000 Advertisement
January, 1968
An interesting ad featuring Beech Aircraft Co. as a user of the Monroe EPIC 3000 as a "hands on" computing aid for use in on the spot aircraft design calculations. This ad is a departure from Monroe's typical advertising for the EPIC calculators (EPIC 2000 & 3000) using pretty models showing off the calculators. As with just about all of the ads for the EPIC calculators, there is no mention that the unit shown (which is just the keyboard and printing unit) is only a small part of the overall calculator system, which included a separate small suitcase-sized electronics package that house the majority of the electronics of the machine, including the dual magnetostrictive delay lines used for storing working registers and program steps.
