This document is a supplement to the
Friden 130 Service Manual
to include information relating to the changes to the calculator as a result of the "Three-Counter" design change.
serial numbers less than 8501 used the "Four-Counter" architecture, but at serial number 8501, some re-work to the design was implemented to eliminate one of the counters to simplify the machine without changing the functionality. The document is written assuming that the reader is intimately familiar with the architecture of the EC-130. Readers of this document that wish to be able to understand it better are encouraged to read the Friden EC-130 Service Manual, which provides detailed information on the logic of the calcualtor.
