First Operational Pre-Production Friden 130 Prototype, August 1963 (Top)
Production Friden 130 (Bottom)

Note the differences in keyboard layout, color and style, along with the location and form of the decimal point selection thumb-wheel as opposed to the production version. The model identification tag (to the left of the CRT display) on the production model reads "130 ELECTRONIC CALCULATOR" while the prototype's reads "ELECTRONIC CALCULATOR 130". Also notable are some subtle differences in the design of the cabinetry.

Sincere thanks to Dick Ahrens, former Friden employee, for donation of this wonderful piece of history to the Old Calculator Web Museum.
