Touting Productivity Improvements at Gimbel Brothers Department Stores Finance
Department
Friden News Magazine, January, 1966
This advertisement speaks to a marked improvement in Accounts Payable
productivity at Gimbel Brothers Department Store in Philadelphia as
a result of replacing Friden's sophisticated (for the
time) Model SBT
electro-mechanical calculators with the Friden 130.
This is the earliest advertisement found thus far for Friden
electronic calculators
that states that Friden is a division of Singer Company. Earlier advertising
states that Friden is a subsidiary rather than a division of Singer.
