Cintra 911 Statistician Product Announcement
Cintra 911 Statistician Product Announcement
Electronics Magazine, August, 1970
Thanks to Takaharu Yoshida for providing the scan of this article
Product announcement article for the Cintra 911 Statistician calculator,
which was a follow-in to the original
Cintra 909 Scientist calculator. The two machines are identical other
than differences in the microcode used to control the operation and
functionality of the machines.
Unfortunately, the article misspells
Michael Cochron's(sic) name. Michael J. Cochran[5/21/1941-12/2/2018],
Cintra's Chief Engineer, went on to become the chief calculator architect
at Texas Instruments, leading the development of TI's single-chip large-scale
(LSI) calculator IC that utilized a small microprocessor (one of the earlier
microprocessor architectures) programmed for the function of the calculator.
This architecture was utilized in many of Texas Instruments
calculator chips and in TI's line of handheld and desktop calculators.
