News Archive - Clary DAC-2500 Digital Arithmetic Center Announcement
A press release announcing the development
of an all-transistorized, magnetic-drum-based electronic calculating unit.
This unit was essentially the electronic calculating element used in the
Clary DE-60 "Computer", introduced in 1960. The DAC-2500 was
developed as an OEM unit that could be integrated as a calculating element
into any kind of equipment that required calculating capabilities. It is not
known at this time of any products that were developed using the DAC-2500, but
research continues.
